Huet, Vouvray Haut Lieu Moelleux other_regionsFrom a praised vintage, Huet's golden colored 1989 Vouvray Le Haut Lieu Moelleux displays a very clear, subtle and lovely delicate bouquet of ripe, yellow fleshed fruits (peaches, pineapples, raisins) along with a delicious earthy chalky background. Round, rather semi sweet and very delicate on the palate, this elegant and balanced Chenin reveals a great finesse, vitality and lingering salinity. Medium bodied but intense and fine, this wine is lifted

It shows the typical Tildin pointedness

this is not to say that it is an elegant wine though it is less youthfully austere than I typically find with this wine

chiseled and wonderfully persistent finish

Very successful for this vintage

The 2016 Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz is steeped in complexity

opulently textured

2015 was a textbook vintage and this is a great Cervaro

aged 17 months in American oak (35% new)

extract of pinot and spice though it can’t quite match the complexity of the RSV

good quality overall

Those lots deemed unsuitable for Quintet go into the Reflection label that has been produced every year since 2013
